Aid workers still at risk after Australian’s death: report
Israel is still failing to properly protect humanitarian workers from military attack in Gaza, according to a high-level report into the death of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom and her colleagues in a drone strike.
While backing Israel’s conclusion that the strike was a “grave mistake”, former Defence Force chief Mark Binskin uncovered new details, including that commanders had given explicit orders earlier that night that humanitarian convoys were not to be targeted, and the possibility the aid group had inadvertently hired local security guards tied to Hamas.
