    Albanese should call out the Greens on antisemitism

    The PM is correct that “words matter”. So he should stop talking in code about the elevated terror threat.

    “My message to political leaders is that words matter,” Anthony Albanese said at a press conference on Monday to announce that ASIO had increased the National Terrorism Threat Level from “possible” to “probable”.

    The prime minister went on to say: “Some senators and members were encouraging an inappropriate partisan response” to events in the Middle East by, for example, encouraging occupations for months outside electorate offices. Some of those offices have had their windows broken, graffiti sprayed over them, and set on fire.
