APRA puts onus on Cbus to ensure CFMEU directors are fit, proper

The prudential regulator says it is up to superannuation funds to ensure their board members are fit to govern after Cbus was slammed for its CFMEU-appointed directors, following allegations of criminality at the union.
Some senators called for the construction industry fund to cut ties with its CFMEU connections on Tuesday, saying it was unacceptable they had control over workers’ retirement savings given the allegations.
