Federal Police plan Parliament House walk-off amid pay dispute
Australian Federal Police will use the return of parliament this fortnight to launch industrial action, including pulling officers from Parliament House, amid a pay dispute in which AFP personnel claim they are being lumped in with “desk job public servants”.
Police union president Alex Caruana said officers would not put people in danger, but industrial action that went unnoticed would not be effective. “We must also be frank: we are prepared to be extremely disruptive in our fight for a reasonable deal,” Mr Caruana said in a letter to federal politicians.
