Investors should be buying up exposure to the commodity markets ahead of the US election to protect against any geopolitical shocks and inflationary policies should Donald Trump return to the White House.
It comes as markets brace for an early start to the US election cycle this year, with the first presidential debate between incumbent Joe Biden and the former president scheduled to kick off next Thursday, four months before Americans head to the polls.
