In minutes, first-home buyer Beth added $62k to her borrowing capacity

When Beth Brown, 29, reduced her credit card limit from $20,000 to $7000, it unlocked an extra $62,000 in borrowing capacity – enough for her to enter the market and buy an apartment in Wolli Creek, which is about 14 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD.
The account manager, who purchased a one-bedder in October 2023 for $724,000, says she’d been looking for about a year but decided to make the leap when her previous landlord increased her rent a significant amount.
