LBF is the largest state funder of civil legal aid. Through grants, we assist disaster victims, women, children, elderly, people with disabilities, newly unemployed, those facing loss of their homes, veterans and military families, and many others. We partner with a trusted network of more than 70 organizations that lead community driven efforts to help families facing non-criminal, civil legal challenges. IPNO frees innocent people sentenced to life in prison and those serving unjust sentences. We recognize the root causes of wrongful convictions and unjust sentences as systemic racism and inequities. We work to expose and address these root causes by sharing our clients’ stories in court, the legislature, the community and the media. NOAHH has provided innovative housing solutions for 38 years. NOAHH’s homebuyer program provides families and individuals the opportunity to own a home with a 0% interest mortgage. Partner families provide 350 hours of “sweat equity” and take homeownership and financial literacy classes. Other programs include affordable home repair and ReStores in New Orleans and Kenner that sell low-cost, donated housing materials. NOAHH is a leader in long-term rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Ida.
