On Friday, May 19, March of Dimes threw the limelight on a select group of young professionals when they held their annual Spotlight On Success party. More than 975 people attended the event, held at Generations Hall, wearing their finest cocktail attire. This year’s honorees were chosen by a special committee from a pool of more than 100 nominees. The final list of “30 Outstanding Single Business Professionals” included: Christie Anderson, Matt Burnell, Lauren Hotard, Shane Ward, Richard Leal, Wes Raymond, Amanda Meyers, Stephen McNair and Leilani K. Heno. Great area restaurants such at Le Meritage, Chops Bistro & Martini bar, Rock-N-Sake, The Flaming Torch, Figaro’s and Acme Oyster House served up creative dishes for patrons, who sipped on champagne and other more potent libations throughout the night. The live auction featured two exciting grand prizes: An all-inclusive party for 75 at Ernst Café Balcony Room, and the Mercedes-Benz AMD Driving Academy! The lucky winner will get behind the wheel of one of the world’s most well tuned cars on a racetrack in Lime Rock Park, Conn., and receive extensive training. An exclusive dinner reception the evening before was also included. Camille Whitworth was emcee for the night, and the Bucktown All-Stars provided the entertainment. Romaguera Photography generously donated photos of honorees, and RSVP Decorating, Inc. created the look for the evening.
Approximately $125,000 was raised from the event, with all proceeds benefitting March of Dimes’ cause of discovering the cause and finding a cure for premature birth.
