Children’s Hospital New Orleans, a member of LCMC Health, is proud to welcome Lucio A. Fragoso into his new role as President and Chief Executive Officer. After successfully serving as the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, Fragoso will now focus on maintaining and strengthening Children’s Hospital’s position as the trusted leader in pediatric healthcare for Louisiana and the Gulf South.

“With his immense experience in pediatric healthcare, Lou Fragoso will expertly lead an exciting new chapter at Children’s Hospital,” says Greg Feirn, CEO, LCMC Health.

Children’s Hospital is a 263-bed, non-profit academic pediatric medical center that offers comprehensive healthcare services for children, including over 40 pediatric specialties. With more than 600 pediatric providers, Children’s serves as the regional leader in child health, providing the highest level of care for the area’s sickest babies, children, adolescents and young adults. Now, after the recent completion of a four-year, $300M campus transformation, Children’s Hospital New Orleans provides unmatched pediatric expertise with its academic partners at LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine, state-of-the-art facilities, and a specially designed patient and family experience.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the Children’s Hospital New Orleans team as President and CEO, and I’m humbled by this opportunity to serve the children and families across our region who depend on our expert level of care,” says Fragoso. “By creating innovative environments of health both within our walls and out in the community, we aim to change the health of a generation.”

Fragoso has dedicated his career to pediatrics, serving in leadership roles at Lurie Children’s in Chicago and Texas Children’s Hospital prior to joining Children’s Hospital New Orleans in 2019. He has been instrumental in the growth of Children’s Hospital’s programs, recruitment and retention of top talent, and improved access and experience.

“With his drive and passion for the mission of Children’s Hospital, Lou will continue to make great progress toward improving health outcomes for kids across our region,” says John R. Nickens IV, Children’s Hospital’s former CEO and now President of Hospital Services and Chief of Pediatrics at LCMC Health.
