Started by Ginger Rushing in 2009 as an internet-based company, Gulf Coast Lanterns quickly grew into a family owned and operated business with a copper lantern showroom in downtown Covington. Ginger’s son Erik Germany is a partner in the business, and his son Cory now works in sales.
The company began when Ginger—with decades of lighting experience—recognized the growing demand nationally for quality, affordable copper lighting delivered on reasonable timelines. After searching for the right manufacturer, she partnered with The CopperSmith of Foley, Alabama, which allowed Gulf Coast Lanterns to provide quality gas and electric copper lanterns at off-the-shelf prices usually in a week or less. Ginger’s decades of experience in lighting coupled with Erik’s construction background and the superb manufacturing expertise of The CopperSmith has proven an enormous success.
At Gulf Coast Lanterns, 30 families of copper lanterns can be customized to fit any need or mount, offering over 3,000 possible selections. Additionally, two new patented flame bulbs replicate open gas flames, giving anyone the ambiance of warm flickering light. Customer service has always been paramount to the company—online and in-person customers can count on the same personalized service no matter the size of their order.
