As much a part of the New Orleans dining scene as establishments featuring oysters or gumbo, Nirvana and Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine have a 40-year history of providing New Orleans residents and guests with authentic, flavor-rich Indian favorites that have garnered decades of awards.

“What inspires us about New Orleans is the close-knit, collaborative attitude of the local hospitality industry,” says Owner Anjay Keswani. “We are always ready to pitch in and lend a hand when needed.” Anjay Keswani’s parents, Har and Anila, first brought Indian cuisine to New Orleans in 1982, and Anjay has been proud to carry on his family legacy.

In addition to serving their extensive and respected menu, the Keswani family also proudly serves the community. From supporting NOMA’s Art in Bloom to Audubon’s Zoo to Do, the Children’s Hospital, the World War II Museum, and numerous programs that provide food to those in need, Nirvana and Taj Mahal are as committed to New Orleans as they are serving up tandoor-roasted meats, decadent curries, and traditional masala and naan.

Nirvana is able to provide all services for a complete wedding.

“My father’s mission was to bring the culture of India to New Orleans through food, and we continue that mission with love and gratitude for our community,” says Anjay.
