An expert in complex and comprehensive breast reconstruction, Dr. Mark Stalder performs a remarkable 200 plus flap surgeries a year. Dr. Stalder specializes in procedures using patients’ own tissue, including the DIEP Flap, and a variety of secondary options breast cancer patients may not find elsewhere.

“These patients are very important to me,” he says. “I’ve been able to develop long-term relationships with many of them—I see them at the beginning of their journey and get to help them feel better. That’s the fun part.”

Housed in a newly restored Uptown home, Stalder Plastic Surgery offers patients sophisticated, personalized care in an inviting space with a knowledgeable staff available to guide patients through the process.

In addition to his solo-practice, he is also a Clinical Associate Professor at LSU, where he co-directs the fellowship that trains plastic surgeons in breast reconstruction with Dr. Robert Allen, one of the pioneers of these procedures.

Dr. Stalder is a board-certified member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgeons and considers it a privilege to make his breast cancer patients feel whole again.
