WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM YOUR COMPETITION? The degree of detail involved in concept, layout, furniture selection, color, proportion, balance and logistics for one space is immense. Change in one area throws off another. In this delicate balance, my education as an architect, preservation planner, and interior designer all come together. I can see the possibilities of a space before my clients can. A full-service design firm, we oversee renovations, preservation/restoration, architectural space planning, and interior design for custom residential and commercial projects. We have our own team of contractors, installers, and specialty craftspeople.

WHY DID YOU BECOME AN INTERIOR DESIGNER? My architect father encouraged my inclinations toward architecture, art, history, and modern design. Interior spaces affect our mental wellbeing, and this motivated my decision to practice interior design over architecture. To create harmonious spaces for clients and work daily with a talented team of local artists and craftspeople is pure joy.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE OR TOUGHEST PROJECT? It can be challenging when a client chooses a contractor before their designer. Designers are a client’s ally—they can represent them throughout a stressful process and guide them in retaining a suitable contractor and maintaining their budget while avoiding a builder-grade design approach.

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION? In art, design, film, food, books, travel, and New Orleans! I have been lucky recently to walk the streets of Rome, Milan, Mexico City, New York, Barcelona, Granada, Buenos Aires, and Bangalore. I hope to inspire others with our new design studio and gallery—featuring international modernist furniture and art—opening in October on Magazine Street next to Spruce.
