Israel’s righteous strike another delay in enduring peace
The Middle East may be lucky if it avoids a serious war out of this round of killings, but it is still a long way from the two-state solution backed by Australia and other Western powers.
The grimmest episode in the mostly joyous history of the Olympic Games is the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes and officials by Palestinian Black September terrorists at the Munich Games of 1972.
After the murders, Israel’s intelligence agencies tracked down and killed up to 17 Palestinian officials in assassinations across Europe and the Middle East that continued until as late as 1988.
