Sending kids to selective schools doesn’t pay off: study

High-achieving students who attend public selective schools gain almost no long-term advantage in their employability, further education and life satisfaction, a new study has found.

Despite the enormous popularity of selective schools and the additional costs associated with hot-housing students to pass the all-important entrance exam, the study from Victoria University found only marginally better outcomes for selective school graduates than their comprehensive school peers.
