The proportion of newly minted million-dollar suburbs has blown out across Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane in the past year, taking the edge off affordability in those cities and underscoring the challenges that home buyers face.

Data from CoreLogic shows that 46 per cent of suburbs in Brisbane, 36 per cent in Adelaide and 32 per cent in Perth now have median house prices over $1 million as of the end of July.
