    The current review of ASIC’s operations will ultimately reflect political objectives rather than any considered view of its actual performance (“Labor plays down call to split ‘toothless’ ASIC”). There is a lot of bad corporate behaviour. The bad actors are generally obvious. Entities can game the legislation in all sorts of ways, giving the impression of regulatory weakness.
