Former NSW treasurer Matt Kean has taken a senior position in a climate investment firm run by ex-Macquarie Capital chief Tim Bishop less than two months after being appointed chairman of the federal government’s Climate Change Authority.

Wollemi Capital is backed by some of the country’s wealthiest investors – from the Fairfax and Schwartz families to former Macquarie chief executive Nicholas Moore and Caledonia co-founder Mark Nelson – as well as the Commonwealth Bank. It raised $220 million last year and intends to invest in agriculture and food technology, new energy market infrastructure and other businesses reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
