    The Financial Review Rich List has spent 41 years measuring money – but what if we took money’s measure? All those dollar signs, digits and commas certainly look impressive. But what do they mean to those whose names are attached to them?

    At the Financial Review, we like to think that the Rich List fortunes we estimate and publish reflect the amount of risk-taking and hard work that has gone into achieving them. Most Rich Listers still work in the business that they founded or which delivered them their fortune. Eight of the top 10, for instance, continue to clock on.
