Why Gen X needs to think about retirement right now
A new generation of just over 5 million Australians – born between 1965 and 1980 – are approaching their retirement years.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that Gen X-ers were hitting nightclubs with teased perms and mullets as 20-year-olds in 1985.
Now, they’re pre-retirees, with the oldest set to turn 60 next year. This marks the start of a whole new generation of just over 5 million Australians – born between 1965 and 1980 – approaching their retirement years.
