Why the stars are finally aligning for the Wallabies
Australia’s challenge against South Africa is huge, but coaching changes and new rules designed to speed up the game bode well for the Wallabies.
Much has changed in Australian rugby in the 10 months since the Wallabies were humiliated at the Rugby World Cup in France, and there is much still to do.
But as the Rugby Championship kicks off in Brisbane against South Africa on Saturday, there are encouraging signs the stars are starting to align in Australia’s favour, both in the way the game is being handled at home and in long-overdue global rule changes that start on Saturday.
